He Spent A Year In Space, And Here Are Some Of The Coolest Things He Saw
NASA astronaut Scott Kelly went to space almost a year ago on a mission to study the effects of life in outer space on the human body.
After months of extensive research, Kelly is finally home. Late Tuesday night, Kelly and fellow astronauts Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov landed back here on Earth.
As you can imagine, their journey was chock-full of amazing experiences. Here are some of Scott Kelly’s most incredible social media posts.
During his stint at the International Space Station, this astronaut took in some seriously breathtaking sights.
He did, of course, spend most of his time working hard.
But how could you get sick of that view?
Here is a stunning view of South Africa.
Earth’s oceans are somehow even more stunning from outer space.
The Himalayas look so small from up there.
Kelly even got a stunning shot of the Northern Lights!
It doesn’t get more incredible than this.
Even after a year, scenes like this took his breath away.
Just before coming home, he took a powerful picture of his final sunrise in space.
Although he saw some life-affirming sights up there, he is definitely thankful to be back on Earth.
Welcome back, Scott Kelly. It must’ve been one wild ride!
I can’t wait to see the results of his tests and how the year in space affected his body. It seems like a crazy thing to do, but work like this is crucial for research purposes. It takes a special person to carry out such an important mission.
